Tour Packages Itinerary

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour will start from Kathmandu and  take you to  Nepaljung and simikot. This is then followed by a helicopter ride from Simikot to Hilasa. Finally, it will take you to the wonderful trail of Mansarovar via Tibet. Here are the details of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival to Kathmandu:

Upon your arrival to Kathmandu our representative will meet you at the airport, then take you to your hotel to be brief you about the Kailash, mansarovar yatra program.

Day 2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu and flight to Nepalgunj

The second day of the Kailash, Mansarovar Yatra tour is scheduled for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. On the half day sightseeing tour you will be visiting Pashupatinath, which lies in the banks of holy river, Bagmati. Its main attraction is the temple of lord Shiva. The next attraction is Budhanilkantha, which is the largest stone carved statue of Lord Vishnu in Nepal. It is around 5 meters long and resides in a pool of water, which is 13 meters long.

The next attraction on the sightseeing tour of Kailash, Mansarovar yatra is Boudhanath temple, which is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal and is listed as a  UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon you will board a flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu, which will take an hour.

Either you will  stay at Nepalgunj or you will  drive for 2 hours from Nepalgunj to Surkhet and  spend the night here (depending on circumstances).

Day 3 Flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot, helicopter ride to Hilsa and Overnight stay at Taklakot:

On the third day of your Kailash, parvat mansarovar yatra tour you will board a flight early in the morning to Simikot, which will be around an hour long.  You will get few hours to rest at Simikot. You will then take a helicopter ride to Hilsa and wait for other members of the group to arrive at Hilsa (since the visa to Tibet is a group visa).

After arriving at Hilsa you will be driven towards the Purang border (Taklakot). You will be staying either at a hotel in Simikot or Takalkot depending on the weather and other circumstances. On your way you will be passing through three checkpoints so the checking procedure may extend the trip by up to 1 hour at every post.

Day 4 A rest day at Taklakot:

The fourth day on the tour of Kailash, Mansarovar Yatra is set aside for acclimatization at Takalkot. Takalkot lies at the height of 3900 meters above the sea level so you need to get accustomed to the change in altitude. You will be resting the whole day and will spend the night here as well.

Day 5 Drive to Mansarovar Lake and overnight stay at Mansarovar:

After breakfast, the first thing you will do on your Kailash, Mansarovar yatra tour is drive towards Lake Mansarovar, which is 95 km away. On your way you will pass the first checkpoint. After, you will drive for another 70 km to reach Rakshas Tal. To the right of  Takash Tal you will see Gurla Mandhata Parvat followed by the first sight of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar.

Mansarovar Lake lies at the distance of 25 km from Raksash Tal. The Parikrama of Lake Manasarovar will take 3 hours by bus. You can take a holy dip and even perform puja at the Mansarovar, which sits at the height of 4550 meters. Later, you will spend the night amidst the serenity of Mansarovar.

Day 6 1st day of Parikrama or Circumambulation

On the sixth day of the Kailash, mansarovar yatra tour from Kathmandu you will drive towards Darchen, which sits at the height of 4650 meters. After driving 35 km for around an hour you will reach Darchen, then drive  8km more to arrive at Yama Dwar. Yama Dwar is the initial point of Kora. From here, you will trek to Dirapuk, which is a 14 km long trail and located at the height of 4880 meters.

On the Kailash, Mansarovar yatra via helicopter tour you will visit  the northern face of Mount Kailash. The trek around  Mount Kailash is optional. If you don’t want to trek, then you can go back to Darchen and wait for the rest of the group to return back from trek.

Day 7 2nd day of Parikarma or Circumambulation:

After having breakfast on the seventh day of your Kailash, mansarovar yatra package you will be trekking from Dirapruk to Dolma La Pass, which is an 8 km long trail. A difficult walk up a steep hill will take you to Dolma La Pass, which is situated at the height of 5700 meters.

While descending from Dolma La Pass you will encounter Gaurikund on the right;  after walking for two to three more hours you will reach Phedi. After taking rest you will resume the trek, walking towards Zuthulpuk, which sits at the height of 4670 meters. It will take approximately 6 hours to cover the trail of 12 kilometers. You will be spending the night of the seventh day of your Kailash Mansarovar yatra tour in Zuthulpuk.

Day 8 3rd day of Parikarma or Circumambulation:

You will begin the eight day of the Kailash mansarovar yatra tour by trekking  a  short and easy trail after having breakfast. It will take you approximately three hours to cover the distance of 8 kms. A bus will be waiting for you to drive you to Darchen. Later, you will dive to Hilsa and if the situation permits, you will travel to Simikot via helicopter.

Day 9 Hilsa to Simkot to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu:

According to the circumstances you could be flying to Hilsa too. You will be flying to Simikot, which is a flight of around 20 minutes via helicopter. A flight of around an hour will take you from Simikot to Nepalgunj and then you will be flying back to Kathmandu. Alternatively, you can  opt to travel by road towards Lucknow.

Day 10 Departure from Kathmandu:

The day will be your last day in Kathmandu. If time permits you can indulge in the activity of your choice. Our representative will take you to the airport before the schedule of your flight.
